So, I decided times were changing. I'd been on Drupal 6 for quite some time now, and Drupal 8 is already around the corner, and I'm soon to be left in the dust. I'd many times tried out Drupal 7 but I could never get it the way I wanted. I wanted something easy to work with, fast, supporting Markdown properly, and wiki-like editing concepts available, and to get that in Drupal takes quite a lot.

So, this past week I finally decided to try something new. I didn't go looking for flat-file cms engines, but when I found Grav, looked at it directly and saw how fast it was, how easy it was, and how lovely the markdown can be with it, I was pretty much nearly ready to instantly convert my site to it. In fact, I practically did!

There's a couple things I liked most about Grav. Speed is one of them. Without even doing anything special, Grav was outright fast like a brand-new well tuned Ferrari. Tuning Drupal to be even close to the speeds I managed to get it to (roughly 284~301ms average access), to what I'm achieving now (roughly 214ms average access), and not actually do anything special to accomplish it other than install and use it, that impressed me very much.

There were some bumps in the road for sure. The login system, while implemented, does lack in some areas of interest, however, once you grasp how to make use of it, and how to implement it and refine it, it can be far more versatile than anything else.

So, welcome to the new Linux-Help.org, Grav CMS empowered and fast. I hope you all appreciate and enjoy this site.
